This Friday, March 22nd, a public hearing regarding the land transfer from USD 113 to USD 115 will be held at the Bern Community Building at 3:00 pm.
USD 115 is asking Bern residents to come and support this opportunity to provide testimony of why you want your land to transfer to USD 115 district. For 12 years, you have committed to USD 115 and the numbers continue to reflect this year in and year out. It is time that the “Out of District” label be removed and you get what you were promised years ago - the ability to have the land follow the students.
USD 115 is asking Nemaha Central residents to come and support the request to have land transferred from USD 113 to USD 115. This will benefit our district as a whole since these students are part of our Thunder Family and have been for 12 years.
USD 115 and USD 113 will each have 45 minutes to present their evidence and then it will be open to the public for individual testimony. Proponents will testify first followed by opponents. Please use your time to give “your” testimony and stick to your script. This is your opportunity to tell the State why this is important to you.
Proponents for land being transferred from USD 113 to 115 will have 3 minutes each to present their case. Opponents will then follow with the same 3 minute format. If you cannot be there at 3 PM please come when you can. Public testimony will begin at approximately 4:30 PM. If you prefer to provide written testimony, please send an email to 113landtransfer@ksde.org by April 15th.
We encourage everyone to attend this public meeting and show support for the USD 115 students and families.
