Fourth Graders Kansas Day Project

The Nemaha Central fourth grade students dressed up as famous Kansans to celebrate Kansas Day, which takes place on January 29. This annual project has been happening for many years at Nemaha Central and students enjoy researching and presenting facts about their famous Kansans.  The students presented the information to others on Monday, January 30.

The students worked very hard to create a presentation about famous people from Kansas. The students put on their best costumes of their famous Kansan, and shared them with many of the Thunder students and staff. Some famous Kansans that the students picked were Russell Stover, Emmet Kelly, Martina McBride, Amelia Earhart, Danny Manning, and Ed Asner.

“It was very fun and interesting,” said Ellie Burkitt.

The presentations took place in Nemaha Central’s very own hallways where the staff and students could learn about the history of Kansas. The students had a blast creating these projects and they were proud to share their hard work with others.

“It took a lot of hard work and it paid off in the end,” said Graham Lueger.
