The Nemaha Central Middle School wrestling team traveled to Effingham for a tournament on Saturday, November 19. Riverside, Horton, Atchison, Monticello Trails, Atchison County, Onaga, Doniphan West, Holton, and Oskaloosa were other teams who also wrestled at this event. The Nemaha Central wrestlers in all weight classes wrestled well at this meet.
A total of 5 seventh graders grappled at this meet. Coming in at 95 pounds, Braden Macke went 2-0; at 105 pounds, Dason Hill went 3-1; at 105 pounds, Cole Ranieri went 2-0; at 115 pounds, Noah Hilbert went 1-3; at 165 pounds, Will Deters went 1-3. That concludes our seventh grade wrestlers.
Braden Macke said, “It was fun! I think we did well as a team.”
Now to the eighth grade side of the results. There were a total of 10 eighth graders that took part in this tournament. At 90 pounds, Harry Langill went 3-1; at 100 pounds, Isaac Heinen went 2-1; at 115 pounds, Brady Koch went 3-0; at 120 pounds, Colten Corby went 0-2; Harper Foster went 2-1; Gus Rusche went 3-0; at 135 pounds, Conner Lueger went 2-0; at 140 pounds; Logan Richards went 3-1; at 148 pounds; Caleb Hynek went 3-0; at 180 pounds; Kyler Ganstrom went 3-0.
Isaac Heinen said, “I watched all of us wrestle, and we have all improved and we’re only getting better.”
The Nemaha Central wrestlers did great in Effingham and showed signs of major improvement.
