Wrestlers cheer as their teammate wins.

The Nemaha Central Middle School wrestling team traveled to Elwood, the home of the Riverside Cyclones on Tuesday, November 8. They also faced off against the Oskaloosa Bears. NCMS had several wrestlers that managed to be undefeated on the night.

The five seventh graders had learned a lot since their last meet and were looking to get some wins on the season. At 90 pounds, Landon Mady went 2-0; at 95 pounds, Braden Macke went 0-3; at 105 pounds, Dason Hill went 0-3, at 115 pounds,  Noah Hilbert went 0-1, and at 165 pounds, Will Deters finished the night with a record of 1-2.

Will Deters said, “The meet was super thrilling and fun.”

On the eighth grade side, at 90 pounds, Harry Langill went 1-1; at 115 pounds, Brady Koch went 2-0; at 120 pounds, Harper Foster went 0-2; at 120 pounds, Gus Rusche went 1-1; also at 120 pounds, Colten Corby went 1-0; at 134 pounds, Conner Lueger went 2-0: at 141 pounds, Logan Richards went 3-0; at 148 pounds, Caleb Hynek went 3-0; at 180 pounds, Kyler Ganstrom went 4-0.

Caleb Hynek said, “It was a great learning experience and we did well as a team.”

All in all, the wrestlers did a good job in one of their first meets of the season.
