Students at Lyrics & Literacy

Lyrics and Literacy night took place at Nemaha Central Elementary School on Tuesday, November 1. The classes involved in this performance were the transitional kindergarten, kindergarten, and first grade. Several musical acts were performed by the students. Also on display were some of the students' art projects that were done in their classrooms for parents to view.

Transitional kindergarten started the night off with the song “Turkey Tango.” It was followed by “I’m a Little Scarecrow,” “Spider on the Floor,” and they ended their performance with “Skinnamarink.” After the students finished singing, they went to their classroom and showed their parents their artwork.

Jaxon Koch said, “My favorite song was ‘Spider on the Floor’.”

Up next was the kindergarten class singing “Pumpkin Pie,” “Shake Them Skeleton Bones,” and “Five Little Pumpkins.” To finish the night, they sang “L-O-V-E.” At the end of all the songs, they showed off their Thankful turkeys that were hanging from the ceiling.

Scarlett Reynolds said, “‘Pumpkin Pie’ was my favorite song.”

The first grade was the last to perform for the night. Their first songs were, “Apple on a Stick,” “Ten Big Pumpkins,” and “I’m Thankful.” The last song the first grade sang was, “I Love You.” When the first grade finished their performance, they went back to the classrooms to show their parents the ghosts they made.

Jayla Scism said, “My favorite art project that I got to show my parents was the ghost.”
