2nd Graders Sing the Song “Lollipop Tree”

The Nemaha Central 2nd-4th graders had their Lyrics and Literacy night on Monday, October 3. Each grade sang several different songs and showed off some of their school projects. Parents came to see their children sing and to view their school projects.

The second graders sang the song “On Top of Spaghetti” as their first song of the night. They followed it up by singing ”Lollipop Tree” and “Cover Me in Sunshine."  The second graders showed their parents the projects they made using reading, spelling, and math skills.

Wyatt Stallbaumer said, “My favorite part was the songs, but I really liked the book creator too.”

The third graders started their night out with the song “We’re Having a Pet Show.” They then sang “My Cat” and “My Dog."  The last three songs they sang were “The Bunny Hop," “Pet Owner’s Rap," and “We Had a Pet Show." They showed their parents a family poem and portrait that they created, along with a fall scarecrow, a quiz they made about themselves, and there were some items around the classroom to show their family members.

Morgan Sura said, “My favorite part about Lyrics and Literacy night was that I got to see my friends.”

The fourth graders' first song of the program was “Dynamite” and they continued their program by singing the songs “Be a Light” and “Sky Full of Stars." The students showed their parents their descriptive writing and other fall projects that they had created.

Emersyn Novotny said, “My favorite song that we sang was Be a Light.”

All together, the students had a fun time singing and showing off their projects.
