Big 7 league champions track team

The first pep rally kicked off on Thursday, September 8 at Nemaha Central Elementary and Middle School. The pep rally was started off by Dr. Amy Beck, who gave a welcome. Then, the cheerleaders were introduced, and they fired up the crowd with a cheer. 

Next, they called down the 7th grade boys track team from last year. They were given their medals from last season for winning the Big 7 League. After the track team was recognized, the pep rally focused on the current fall sports. Coach Jon Thomas talked about cross country and how amazing they have been doing. Coach Nikki Honeyman and Coach Carly Hill talked about their volleyball season and about how hard the girls were working in practice. The 8th grade volleyball team has won some and lost some, but have played hard and the games have been close. The 7th grade  Lastly, Coach Hadden Hiltgen brought out the football team and had each player tell the position they played.

After talking about the fall sports, the cheerleaders called down players from the fall sports teams to play a game. They played a game where they had to shoot and make marshmallows in an ice cream cone that was in one of their teammates' mouths. The game was fun for the crowd to watch and the winning team was the cross country team.

Madison Bell said, “It was fun watching the kids trying to throw marshmallows in people's mouths."

Finally, the pep rally ended with the traditional spirit stick challenge with the Victory cheer.  The loudest class to shout out the Thunder cry wins.  The fall coaches chose the winning class and kindergarten won.

Brady Koch said, “The pep rally was fun. I liked seeing all the Thunder spirit in the room.” 

The pep rally was fun. It got us out of class for a little bit. The sports teams were fired up for their games ready to add a few more wins to their records.
