The Nemaha Central Middle School cross country team attended a meet at Jackson Heights on Monday, September 12. The Thunder team had six athletes participate. Those runners were Brady Koch, Harry Langill, Colten Corby, Carson Edelman, Gus Rusche, and Rachel Nordhus. There were also athletes from eight other schools running at the meet for a total of 85 participants.
Brady Koch finished 1st with a time of 12:53, Harry Langill finished 5th with a time of 14:15, Colten Corby finished 11th with a time of 15:38, Carson Edelman finished 12th with a time of 16:15, Gus Rusche finished 18th with a time of 18:07, and the final NC runner was Aiden Streeter, who finished 24th with a time of 20:40 in the 8th-grade boys division of 30 runners. Rachel Nordhus finished 4th with a time of 17:29 in the 8th-grade girls division of 13 runners.
Harry Langill said, “It was a tough meet for everyone, but ultimately, we did very well in the heat.”
The NCMS team had a difficult race, but everyone pushed through. There were a lot of other schools there but the NC runners still did very well.
