The Nemaha Central Middle School cross country team has had promising first meets, as many of their runners have medaled. The team met at the Hiawatha Country Club for their fourth meet of the season on Thursday, September 15. Five NC runners participated in the race with a total of 81 runners in all.
The only NC girl that attended the meet was Rachel Nordhus who placed 4th out of 14 runners with a time of 15:50.
Rachel Nordhus said, “I had a really fun time and despite the heat and the somewhat hilly course, everyone did well in their races.”
There were five boy runners and two of them placed. Colten Corby was the first to finish for the boys in 3rd place with a time of 13:10. Next to cross the finish line was Carson Edelman who finished in 10th place with a time of 14:18 followed by Gus Rusche who finished in 18th place with a time of 16:16 . The last NC runner to cross the finish line was Aiden Streeter who finished in 26th place with a time of 18:50.
The team looks forward to participating in their upcoming meets and improving their times.
