The Nemaha Central cross country team headed to Washington County for their second meet of the season on Thursday, September 8. There were 4 runners from Nemaha Central including Aiden Streeter, Colten Corby, Carson Edelman, and Rachel Nordhus. There were 18 teams total at the meet.
Overall there were 27 boy runners and 12 girl runners. For the eighth-grade boys' division, Colten Corby placed third with a time of 13:49, and 6 places behind Colten was Carson Edelman who placed ninth with a time of 14:58, then Aiden Streeter placed twenty-fourth with a time of 21:09. Rachel Nordhus was the only eighth-grade girl runner for NC and she placed sixth with a time of 17:44.
“It was a really fun meet and I’m glad I got to run on such a flat course,” Carson Edelman stated.
Overall the cross country team did very well, but there is always room for improvement during the season. The runners are looking forward to competing at their upcoming meets.
