Big 7 record breaking athlete Caleb Hynek sprinting and jumping over hurdles

The Nemaha Central Middle School track athletes competed in the Big 7 League track meet on Tuesday, May 10. Seven other teams were present: Hiawatha, Holton, Jeff West, Perry-Lecompton, Riverside, Royal Valley, and Sabetha. It was a super hot day but they endured and competed to the best of their abilities. 

Seventh Grade Girls Results:

Overall the athletes did a really fantastic job and finished out the season strong. The seventh-grade girls finished in 5th place, the eighth-grade girls finished in 6th place, the seventh-grade boys were in 1st place, and the eighth-grade boys ended up in fourth place. Caleb Hynek really stood out setting the Big 7 League record for the 100 and 200-meter hurdles. 

Caleb Hynek, after breaking two records said, “It was fun and exciting to beat the records, but it was super hot outside.”
