The Nemaha Central Elementary and Middle School bands played their hearts out at their final concert of the school year on Monday, May 9. Under the conduction of Mr. Todd Krause, 5th through 8th grade band students gave Nemaha Central a new tune of pride.
The first to play their melody was the 5th grade band. The 5th graders started off playing the French folk song, "Frere Jacques." Next, they played "When The Saints Go Marching In," "Old MacDonald Had A Band," Beethoven’s "Ode To Joy," and "Rock This Band."
The second class to play was the 6th grade band. Landon Mady started off by announcing the first song, "Banana Boat Song." Then they continued their performance by playing "Zombie Dance" and "Mighty Empire." The musicians finished off their show with "Dragon Slayer."
The last group to play was the 7th and 8th grade band. Kathryn Yunghans announced the first song, "The Star-Spangled Banner." The band then continued to play "Storm Chaser" and "Attack of the Zombie Trombones." Finally, they ended the concert with "Happy Hungarian."
Jayden Seitz said, “I thought it was great, and I thought we did really well. Great way to end the year!”
The spring concert ended with a new tune to send through the school. Thank you to the 8th grade class of 2026 for all the hard work and dedication you have been putting in for the band concerts at NCEMS from 5th grade all the way to 8th grade.
