Class picture at Worlds of Fun

The eighth-graders at Nemaha Central Middle School traveled to Kansas City on Friday, May 6 for their field trip to Worlds of Fun.  The students went into the park and were welcomed by a perfect day. They started the field trip by taking a class picture and then split up into their organized groups. Several of the students went towards the Spinning Dragon ride and then the Patriot since those rides were close to the entrance.

After enjoying rides for a few hours, students ate lunch and then continued to explore the park.  The Mamba was one of the rides mentioned as a highlight of the trip.  Students met back at the front when it was time to leave and headed to the bus exhausted from their day of fun.

Next, they headed toward home but stopped in Platte City for supper.  Students could choose which restaurant they wanted to eat at and there was enough money raised from working concession stands at middle school games to pay for their meals. After supper, the students boarded the bus for what seemed like a long trip home.

Cameron Clary said, “I had a great time having fun with friends. I hope I can go back.”

The soon-to-be graduates really enjoyed this experience. Some say that it was the best field trip of their school years so far. They were also glad that this opportunity made them all closer as a class.

Jolie Jones said, “It was really fun to get a little more out of your comfort zone and to hang out with all of your friends for the day!”
