The Nemaha Central Middle School’s wrestling team traveled to Doniphan West on Saturday, October 30. This year’s Thunder squad has eight 8th graders and eleven 7th graders, and they are coached by Mark Mayberry and Schuyler Mayberry. This is the third year for wrestling at NCMS and the first season that a girl has taken part of the program. Seventh grader, Harper Foster joined the wrestling team as the first girl to participate in the program.
NC had seven 8th graders wrestle at the meet. Bringing the combined record for the 8th grade Saturday to 13-10.

The Nemaha Central 7th graders will look to learn more moves and better their technique in the upcoming weeks. The 8th graders look to improve and expand their knowledge from last year over the course of the season. The meet was a good learning experience for all the NC wrestlers who participated.
