The Nemaha Central Middle School cross country team headed to Hiawatha on Thursday, September 16 for a cross country meet. There were four runners from NCMS that attended the meet. The runners were Bob Langill, Colten Corby, Gus Rusche, and Rachel Nordhus. Other teams competing at the meet were Hiawatha, Silver Lake, Falls City, Royal Valley, Atchison, Doniphan West, Holton, ACCMS Pawnee City, and Riverside.
There were 20 runners in the seventh-grade girls' run, and Rachel Nordhus came in 6th place with a time of 16:49. With 25 runners in the seventh-grade boys' run, Colten Corby came in 6th place with a time of 15:18, while Gus Rusche came in 9th place with a time of 15:45.
Twenty-four runners participated in the eighth-grade boys’ run, and Bob Langill came in 7th place with a time of 13:43.
“It was hot, but my team still did well,” said Colten Corby.
The NCMS cross country team had a great meet with everybody placing in the top ten. If they keep this up, they have a great chance of performing well at future meets.
