On Monday, September 28, the Nemaha Central Middle School volleyball girls traveled to Sabetha looking for some wins against the Bluejays. The eighth grade and seventh grade both played an A-team and a B-team game. The night did not go as planned as only the eighth grade succeeded in getting the wins.
The eighth grade A-team was up first. The Thunder girls stretched and were feeling good about this match. Their first game went amazing as they defeated the Bluejays 25-12. Their second match went just as well with a win, 25-13. In their last match, the Thunder won with a strong score of 15-8.
Next up was the eighth grade B-team. Like always, the Thunder girls were pumped and ready to win. Their first game went great with a score of 25-14. Their second game went even better with a score of 25-10. Their last game was a bit tougher, but in the end, the Thunder won with a score of 15-12.
Feryn Feldkamp said, “It was fun to play against our friends and win against them.”
The seventh grade A-team was playing at the same time as the eighth grade A-team. The Thunder team was also stretched and ready to play. In their first game, it was close but the Thunder girls were unable to get the win losing 22-25. In their second game, they came up short again losing 18-25. In their last game, they lost with a score of 4-15. The Thunder team worked hard, but just couldn’t put it all together for a win.
Lastly, the seventh grade B-team was up. Their first game went really well as they won with a score of 25-18. Their second game was close but they came up a couple of points short, losing with a score of 23-25. In their last game, they struggled to regain their confidence and lost the game 2-15.
Beth Berkley said, “It was rough losing one of the last games of the year, but we still had fun.”
