The Nemaha Central Middle School cross country team traveled to Jackson Heights for their final meet of the season on Tuesday, October 20. The athletes had already run at Jackson Heights once during the season and looked to do just as good.
The race was one whole race and they ran two miles. The Thunder runners all did very well. Bob Langill ran in the 7th grade race and placed second with a time of 14:28 in his last 7th grade meet of the year. In the 8th grade girls race, Maddy Mosteller placed first with a time of 14:14 and Presley Lutz placed second with a time of 16:25. On the boys eighth grade side, Lane Mosteller placed first with a time of 12:52 and Kaden Peterson placed second with a time of 14:10.
Overall they did very well with all of them finishing within the top 2 in their divisions. The 8th graders ran in their last meet as a middle school cross country runner, but Bob Langill will be back for another season as an 8th grader next year.
Coach Jon Thomas said, “The middle school runners saved their best for last. I was really pleased with the effort and the times of each runner. We ran at a high level at the conclusion of the season, which is right where we hoped to be.”
