To keep families and community informed about the latest confirmed cases of COVID-19 in either students or staff at USD #115 Nemaha Central Schools, we will be posting an article on the website each evening at 5:00 pm.
As of 11/4/20 we have had 2 new staff members at NCEMS and 3 students at NCHS that have tested positive. None of these cases resulted in quarantining due to close contact with other staff or students. Per the district’s established protocol, all areas of the building that the individual used in the past several days have been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.
The Board of Education will be reviewing our current Guidelines to NC Mask that is a part of the Return to School Plan. With the new guidelines for quarantining due to close contact in a low-risk school setting, this will help with our effort to keep as many students and staff “in person” most of the time.
One of the changes is the type of face coverings that are allowed. Below are examples of approved face masks. You will see that neither the gaiter style (like the ones the district distributed) or handkerchiefs style will be allowed. The buildings have some two layer cloth masks available if your child needs one.
Other changes that will be considered are:
expanding face masks to PreK and Kindergarten students
Requiring use of face masks even when social distancing can be achieved while indoors
