The Nemaha Central Middle School football team hosted Jeff West on Thursday, September 24. They hoped to keep their winning streak going after facing a strong Holton team
The first quarter started with NC kicking to Jeff West. On the first play, Jeff West scored making the game 0-8 with the Tigers on top. The Thunder team was quick to respond and they scored three touchdowns of their own. The score at the end of the first quarter was 22-8 since the Thunder team was stopped on two of their two-point conversions.
The Thunder team entered the second quarter looking to get a better start. They held Jeff West scoreless while scoring multiple times making the score 42-8.
To start the second half, the Thunder team received the ball and scored quickly. After putting up one more touchdown and converting on the extra points, the team went into the fourth quarter with a score of 58-8.
In the final quarter, the Thunder replaced some starters to give them a break. The Thunder team didn’t score any touchdowns in the quarter, but with 6 seconds left Jeff West ran the ball in for a touchdown making the final score 58-16.
"We played well, but still have lots of room for improvement," said Collin Jost.
"We came into the game very pumped up. We played hard and our fans cheered loud and it was fun!" said Jack Macke.
With the win, the Thunder team improves their undefeated record to 4-0 and hopes to remain undefeated as they finish up their season.
