NCMS Cross Country Team Runs at Second Washington Meet

The Nemaha Central Middle School cross country team traveled to Washington again to run on Monday, September 28. The course was one of the harder courses they have faced yet. It was a very hot day, making it harder for the runners. Other teams participating include Washington, Valley Heights, Hanover, Solomon, Pike Valley, and Tescott.

The runners started by walking the course and warming up to get ready for the race. The race was a 2 mile race for all participants and started with the boys then the girls 2 minutes later.

Here are the results of the meet. In seventh grade, Bob Langill placed 14th in the boys division with a time of 14:35. In the eighth grade, there were two middle school girls participating: Maddy Mosteller and Presley Lutz. Mosteller placed 4th with a time of 14:13 and Lutz placed 5th with a time of 17 minutes. On the 8th grade boys side, there were two boys participating: Lane Mosteller and Kaden Peterson. Mosteller placed 3rd with a time of 12:48 and Peterson placed 7th with a time of 13:28.

The participants were exhausted from their great performances and the heat. They look to improve before their final meets.

Kaden Peterson said, “It was a hot day and the course was hilly and seemed longer than usual, but I was still able to run pretty well and finish with a good time.”
