On Thursday, September 10, the Nemaha Central Middle School volleyball team played Riverside. They were all ready to come out on top, but one team was short of a win.
The eighth grade teams played in the Nemaha Central High School main gym. Eighth grade A-team started out strong by defeating Riverside in the first game 25-6. They were on a roll in their second game, beating Riverside 25-8. In their last game, they weren’t giving up, again dominating Riverside 15-5.
The eighth grade B-team was ready for their first win. They started out by winning the first game, 25-16. The second game they weren’t about to give up. They fought for their second win and succeeded with the score 25-18. The Thunder girls wanted to keep pushing for a win in the third game, and they did in the end with a close score 17-15.
Carli Rottinghaus said, “We played really well and it was fun to get some good hits in the game.”
The seventh grade teams played in the secondary Nemaha Central High School gym. Seventh grade A-team was determined to win their match. In the first game, they were ready to play, but sadly they lost by two points with a score of 23-25. The second game was tough too and they couldn’t get back on top losing 14-25. The final game was close to a Thunder win, but they just barely lost 14-16.
Koree Stuke said, “I think the game went great! We may have taken a loss, but we learned from our mistakes!”
The seventh grade B-team was warmed up and ready to go. In the first game, they came up a bit short with a score of 18-25. In the second game, the Thunder girls were fighting for a victory and they got it, 25-15. In the last game, they were ready for whatever Riverside threw at them, and they defeated Riverside 16-14 to get the match win.
All the teams were ready to play and ready to win. Seventh grade A-team came up a little short, but the rest of the teams were victorious. They all tried their best and had fun!
