On Monday, March 3, 2025, the Nemaha Central Elementary and Middle School students celebrated Dr. Seuss Day. For those who don’t know, Dr. Seuss is an American author and cartoonist who significantly impacted children’s reading habits. He wrote famous books such as The Cat in the Hat, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Green Eggs and Ham, and The Lorax.
The Thunder students could wear pajamas during school, to honor Dr. Seuss Day. They also did some fun activities, such as Mrs. Odette Helm, the librarian, hiding Dr. Seuss characters here, there, and everywhere for the students to find. Other fun activities were creating artwork, reading books, and answering trivia questions about Dr. Seuss books.
Liam Beebe Dishong said, “Hiding the small characters was my favorite activity.”
Kiara Hynek said, “Pajama day was fun and the trivia questions were easy.”
The students enjoyed celebrating Dr. Seuss Day with all the fun activities and being able to do them in their pajamas.
