Nemaha Central 7th grade team

The Nemaha Central Middle School Scholars’ Bowl team had a meet at Riley County on Monday, February 24. The teams competing were NC, Riley County, Royal Valley, and Hiawatha.

Riley County won the eighth grade with a record of 4-1. NC A came in second with a record of 3-2. NC B came in third, also with a record of 3-2. Royal Valley A & B and Hiawatha finished out fourth-sixth.

“Our teams were split up as a team of girls and a team of boys. It was fun to get to play on the same team as all my friends,” said Cora Langill.

Riley County also won the seventh grade with a record of 4-1. Hiawatha came in second, also with a record of 4-1. NC B came in third with a record of 3-2. NC A came in fourth with a record of 2-3. Royal Valley A & B came out in fifth and sixth.

“Riley County was hard, but both the eighth grade and seventh grade teams did good,” said Grady Schmelzle.

Every team played each other and the ties were broken by seeing how the tying teams did against each other. All of the NC teams had much to be proud of and look forward to seeing what they can do for the remainder of the season.
