Nemaha Central Scholars Bowl team,  had their first meet at home.

The Nemaha Central Middle School had its first Scholars’ Bowl meet at the NC Thunder School, on Friday, February 14, 2025. The team consists of 11 eighth graders and 10 seventh graders and is sponsored by Karla Kramer and Heather Sullivan. The teams that attended the meet were SPPS, Perry-Lecompton, and Rossville.

Starting with the eighth grade results. The 8A team did a really great job ending with a record of 4-1 to claim first place in their first meet. The 8B team finished second at the meet with a record of 3-2.

Jayla Nolte said, “I was very impressed by how well we competed at our first meet.”

The seventh grade also did well at their first meet. The 7A secured fifth place with a record of 2-3. The 7B team used their skill and knowledge to secure first place with a 4-1 record. Being their first meet, they put in a great effort. 

 “It was new and everybody was nervous,” said Ethan Jost.

The Thunder teams did a fantastic job in their first Scholars’ Bowl meet, demonstrating both knowledge and teamwork.
