Taking down her opponent is Cora Langil

The Nemaha Central wrestling girls' team traveled to Jeff West to wrestle on Wednesday, February 5 as a makeup meet. This meet would be the last one before the Big East Tournament.

The NC girls showed up ready to compete. In eighth grade, at 125 pounds, Payson Rottinghaus went 1-2; at 141 pounds, Evelyn Ba Coc went 1-1; at 119 pounds, Khloe Crevier went 0-2; Claire Sourk at 94 pounds went 3-0, Jillian Koch at 84 pounds went 1-2; Cora Langill at 99 pounds went 1-1, and finally Emma Tangeman at 240 pounds went 0-2.

Payson Rottinghaus said, “We fought hard and won a couple of matches.”

Next, in seventh grade, first up at 79 pounds is Charlie Koch who went 1-2; then at 82 pounds Brooklyn Korber went 0-2, next Nikki Lambrecht at 112 pounds went 0-2, and finally, Ava Madrid at 125 pounds went 0-2.

These girls faced some tough matches and didn’t fight as hard as they wanted to; however, they will keep practicing to improve for the next meet.
