The Nemaha Central Middle School girls wrestled at home on Thursday, January 30, 2025. This was a night for them to shine before their home crowd.
The eighth grade was excited to wrestle their opponents. At 84 pounds, Jillian Koch went 0-2; at 94 pounds, Claire Sourk, went 2-0; at 99 pounds Cora Langill went 2-0; at 119 pounds, Khloe Crevier, went 1-2; at 125 pounds, Payson Rottinghaus went 1-1; at 141 pounds, Evelyn Ba Coc went 1-2; and at 240 pounds Emma Tangeman went 0-2.
Khloe Crevier said, “Everybody did well, and overall, I think it was a great meeting. I’m excited about our next meeting.”
The seventh graders had some tough competition at the meet. At 79 pounds, Charlie Koch went 0-2; at 82 pounds, Brooklyn Korber went 0-1; at 112 pounds, Nikki Lambrecht went 0-2; and at 125 pounds, Ava Madrid went 0-2.
Overall, the Thunder girls' wrestling team has had its ups and downs. However, the girls are developing more confidence for the upcoming Big East Tournament.
