The Nemaha Central’s seventh and eighth graders spent their Tuesday, January 28, 2025, watching the Topeka Symphony. The trip was organized by Mrs. Chelsey Haverkamp, Mrs. Angie Bass, and Mrs. Laurie Stallbaumer.
Students learned about the arts by taking in over an hour of riveting classical music. The symphony played nine pieces, including “Hall of the Mountain King” by Edvard Grieg, “The Greatest Showman Suite” by Benji Pasek, “Pink Panther” by Henry Mancini, and “Star Wars Opening Credits” by John Williams. After the symphony, everyone enjoyed lunch at Golden Corral.
“The symphony was amazing, and everyone enjoyed it. The food at Golden Corral was great too,” said Emma Tangeman.
“There were definitely some ups and downs,” said Cristann Althouse.
The students were happy to spend their day outside school experiencing something new.
