The fourth grade classes at Nemaha Central held their Kansas Day presentations on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. This project has been ongoing for many years, and students enjoy researching and presenting facts about their famous Kansan. The teachers, Mrs. Carissa Williams, Mrs. Dani Reinecke, and Mrs. Taylor Olberding, organized it.
The presentations took place in Nemaha Central’s very own hallways, where the students, staff, and guests could learn about the history of Kansas. The students worked very hard to create a presentation about famous people from Kansas. They put their best effort into dressing like their famous Kansan and shared information about them with the Thunder students and guests. Some of the famous Kansans that the students picked this year were: Amelia Earhart, Danny Manning, Russell Stover, Emmet Kelly, and Marina McBride.
“I don’t like talking in front of people, but I had fun,” said Jensen Weaver.
The students had an amazing time creating these projects and were proud to share their hard work with others. While the presentations took place in the hallway, parents, staff, and students could meet the Kansans and learn more about their role in Kansas history. The fourth grade enjoyed doing this project and hopes that you learned more about their famous Kansans. After the hallway presentations, students invited their guests to the cafeteria to view their presentation on the iPad while enjoying popcorn.
“I had fun and my favorite part was when people pushed my button and said good job,” said Harper Smith.
