The Nemaha Central Elementary kindergarten through fifth grade had their annual Valentine's parties on Friday, February 14. Preschool students had their Valentine's parties on Thursday, February 13.
The parties included games like bingo, stacking candy hearts, arts and crafts, shooting Q-tips in a bucket with a straw, and a lot more fun activities. The Parent/Teacher Organization also provided a snack and drink for all the elementary students. A few parents from each class came up with the games that the students played.
“It was really fun to have all my friends together having fun,” said Alyvia Sudbeck.
The Thunder Reps organized the Val-O-Grams for the elementary and middle school students. Val-O-Grams are a bag of chips or a Hershey's bar that you pay a dollar for and on Valentine's day it will be sent to that person. There were a total of about 256 bags of Doritos and about 864 Hersey bar Val-O-Grams ordered. The profits for the event will go to the impact groups for use by the students for other activities.
“I like how we could give anyone in the school a Val-O-Gram,” said Hendryx Wahl.
The students all had a very fun time and look forward to next year. Special thanks to all the parents and staff that made everything run smoothly.
