The Nemaha Central Parent and Teacher Organization (PTO) hosted an Accelerated Reader incentive party for students on Thursday, December 19, 2024. The purpose of the party was to encourage students to read independently and improve their literacy skills. Students in first through eighth grade who met the requirements could attend the party organized by the PTO.
The students in first through eighth grade needed thirty points to attend the party. If they had extra points, they could earn pop, popcorn, and candy. The first through fourth grade students had their party at the bowling alley, while the fifth through eighth grade went to the Seneca Twin Theatre for a movie.
Braxton Hill said, “My favorite part was winning at bowling.”
There was a bonus for students if they earned 100 points. The bonus was a pizza party in the cafeteria. Many celebrated their accomplishments at the pizza party.
Anna Jost commented, “I am glad that we get rewarded for our hard work reading books throughout the year.”
