The Nemaha Central Middle School band concert was held on Monday, December 16, 2024, and was performed by the fifth through eighth graders under the direction of Mr. Todd Krause. This was their traditional Winter/Christmas concert.
The fifth graders were excited about their first-ever concert and came into the gym ready and excited to do the best they could. They played several short songs including, “Lightly Row,” “A Mozart Melody,” “Jingle Bells,” “Eighth Note Jam,” “Frere Jacques,” “Old MacDonald Had a Band,” “Camptown Races,” “Up Upon A Housetop,” “Jolly Old St. Nick,” and finally “Hard Rock Blues.” The fifth grade performed great and did their best for their first concert.
The sixth grade performed next, starting strong by playing “Spitfire!” The other songs they performed were “T-Rex," “Magma,” and “Coldwater Creek. " They finished with “Christmas Bits and Pieces.” The sixth graders worked hard and showed that they had improved.
Lily Romney said, “We worked together and performed great.”
Lastly, it was the seventh and eighth graders' turn. They started off playing “Alien Invasion” and performed it amazingly. Next, they played “Sweet Caroline,” “Superhit Megamix,” and finally, “Bell Carol Rock.” Overall, the seventh and eighth graders performed well.
Bryce Weber said, “We practiced a lot and we performed amazingly.”
The concert was a big success and it put the audience in the holiday spirit.
