An NCMS wrestler getting points on a move

The Nemaha Central Middle School boys wrestling team traveled to Perry on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. The six teams at the meet were Nemaha Central, Jeff West, Santa Fe Trail, Perry-Lecompton, Royal Valley, and Pleasant Ridge.

The seventh grade team faced tough opponents at the meet and only walked away with one win. In the 85-pound weight class, Rykeir Feldkamp was 0-2; in the 96-pound class Evan Blestcher was 0-2; in the 141-pound class, Noah Keim was 0-2; and in the 150-pound class, Bentin Deters was 1-2.

The eighth grade was feeling good about their last competition and were ready for this meet. In the 80-pound weight class, Tyson Beebe Dishong was 0-2; in the 126-pound weight class, Jonathan Gordon was 2-0; in the 141-pound weight class, Tate Edelman was 0-3; and in the 215-pound weight class, Kollin Wagner was 2-1.

Jonathan Gordon said,” It was good that there were a lot of good competitors, and we did well at the meet.”

There were some tough wrestlers at this meet and the NC boys did not get the results they wanted. Hopefully, they will only get better now and give 100 percent effort from here on out.
