The Nemaha Central Elementary and Middle School held a talent show in the gym on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. Fourth through eighth grade students signed up to show their incredible skills in front of the school. The participants were excited to show their progress towards their abilities!
The first act was a glow stick dance, performed by Addi Heiman, Grace Haug, and Hadlee Burdiek. After that, Jeffrey Lierz took the stage and performed an amazing puppet show. The next act was by Ethan Jost, who solved a Rubix cube in less than a minute! The Slay Queens, also known as Adalynn Edelman, Addyson Lee, Evie Romney, Ivory Ronnebuam, Terryn Loveall, Harper Smith, Ainsley Dalinghaus, and Serenity Ward, danced to the song “Cheerleader” by OMI. Then Wyatt Stallbaumer walked over to the piano and played a beautiful song.
Hadlee Burdiek commented, “Seeing all the different talents people had was my favorite part.”
Next up was Irelynn Foster, who sang “Drivers License” by Olivia Rodrigo. Mack Reinecke had some serious skill by spinning a basketball, while blindfolded, on his finger! The Perky Pickles, also known as Layne Holthaus, Latham Kramer, Jackson Stallbaumer, and Kasen Bergman, took the stage as dancing pickles. The next act was Abbott Sullivan playing, “For Whom the Bell Tolls” on the guitar. Then, Jayla Nolte walked onto the stage to sing a powerful song called, “This is Me” from The Greatest Showman! Our very last performance was a Thunder Derby Race performed by Madison Ward, Alyvia Sudbeck, Anna Jost, Tyson Beebe-Dishong, and Drivyn Hynek. They ran through multiple obstacle courses to get to the end!
Alyvia Sudbeck said, “It was entertaining and their ideas were creative. It was really fun being a part of it, too.”
As the brave students showed their talent, the audience erupted with cheers and excitement for each act!
