The Nemaha Central Middle School cross country team raced in their first league meet on Thursday, October 3, 2024. With the league merger, it was decided to have a middle school league meet. This meet took place at Hummer Park in Topeka and Perry hosted the meet.
Nemaha Central competed in two separate races. One was the Perry Invitational, and the other was the Big East League meet. Cora Langill ran a great race and was the Big East League champion with a time of 13:41. This time earned her fourth place overall in the Perry Invitational meet. Claire Sourk finished tenth in the league and 27th in the overall Perry meet, with a time of 19:35.
Jon Thomas said, “Cora and Claire put forth a solid effort on a hot day. Cora’s eighth-grade championship was a great accomplishment.”
Congratulations to both girls who have made tremendous progress throughout the season.
