The Nemaha Central Middle School Cross Country team traveled to Hiawatha on Thursday, September 19. NC had 2 athletes competing at this meet against girls from Falls City, Silver Lake, Holton, Hiawatha, Pawnee City, and Atchison.
In the 2-mile run, Cora Langill took second place with a time of 15:29 while Claire Sourk took fifth place, with a time of 17:14. Even though it was a scorching hot day, NC girls still did great, placing in the top ten.
The course was full of challenging hills and curvy trails which made it tough for the runners. The NC girls never gave up and even had fun.
Sourk had this to say about the race, “It was fun but it was difficult too!”
