The local police station talks about his career.

Careers on Wheels has arrived! At Nemaha Central Elementary School, many local businesses parked their vehicles in front of the school for the annual Careers on Wheels event. This event took place on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. This event was a cool way of showing the elementary students some of the different jobs that exist with a vehicle in their hometown.

The grades that attended this event were second through fifth. The presenters were businesses that require a vehicle to accomplish their job. There were six businesses for students to rotate to and learn about their careers. Students were also allowed to view the inside of the vehicles and the business presenters answered their questions.

The businesses that attended were: Nemaha County Law Enforcement, Pheasants Forever, Rainbow Telecommunication, Merz Ink, Jones Cattle, and Ready Mix. The students stayed at each station for ten minutes, learning about each job.

Jack Stallbaumer, a fifth grader said,  “The guy that made stickers was my favorite part of Careers on Wheels.”

“The guy that did the designs was my favorite,” said a fourth grader, Ainsley Dalinghaus.

Students were so excited to learn more about the jobs from the presenters who attended the Careers on Wheels event. This event was a great opportunity for students to start thinking about what they would want to do in the future. The students were very interested in these jobs and look forward to next year's Careers on Wheels.
