The Nemaha Central Middle School wrestling team headed off to Holton to their wrestling meet on Tuesday, December 3. The wrestlers were all hyped and ready for their meet and to wrestle their opponents for the day.
NCMS had all 7 seventh graders participating in this week's matches. Peyton Ross won one match and lost one match, Luis Lambercht won one match and lost two matches, Dayton Nelson lost three matches, Ayden New won two matches and lost two matches, Spencer Lockhart lost both of his matches, Abram Keim lost all three of his matches, and finally Isaac Barrett lost all three of his matches.
NCMS also had all 5 eighth grade wrestlers at the meet. Holden Bass lost his only match, Abe Hilbert won two and lost one of his matches, Miles Carpenter lost both of his matches, John Langill lost both of his matches, Dalton Childress won one and lost three of his matches.
"It wasn't our best day, but we can do better next time,'' said Peyton Ross.
All in all, the wrestling team had a lot of good matches and tough competition that has pushed them along. The wrestling team is doing well and reaching their goals for the season. Each wrestler is looking forward to the final meet, the Big 7 League tournament. They hope to be able to beat their next opponents and place as a team. Good luck NCMS wrestlers!
