The Nemaha Central Middle School Parent Teacher Organization sponsors the annual Randy Nadler presentation for the students of NCEMS. This year the presentation took place on Thursday, October 3. Nadler’s presentation focused on Peru, Ecuador, and the Galapagos Islands.
Nadler has come to NCEMS for several years now. Students have heard presentations on Germany, Italy, Thailand, and India.
Nadler started off with a presentation for the fifth through eighth grade. Next, preschool through fourth grade listened to a similar presentation. At the end of the presentations, Nadler answered questions from the students about the program.
Nadler included many slides of animals, including many reptiles and birds in his presentation. The largest reptile he talked about was the Galapagos tortoise. He talked about seals and why they looked different colored. He also talked about the Lost City of the Incas and how the Indiana Jones movies were based on the man, Hiram Bingham who made public the existence of the Inca city of Machu Picchu in 1911.
“I liked the pictures in the slide show,” said Isabelle Rohlmeier.
“It was fun and I learned a lot of things,” said Silas Ulmer.
