The Nemaha Central Lady Thunder volleyball team faced Perry-Lecompton in volleyball on Thursday, September 12. The games were located in the Nemaha Central High School gymnasium. The Thunder teams were ready to play hard and get some wins on their court!
The seventh grade A-team was victorious in the first set, with a score of 25-14. In the second set, they outplayed their opponents getting another win, with a score of 25-17. In the last set, the Thunder team dominated the Kaws with a 15-4 win. The ladies definitely fought hard for their victory, and they certainly deserved it!
“I’m glad we took the win!” said Cali Honeyman.
The seventh grade B-team played right after the seventh grade A-team, and they won their first set with a score of 25-19. The second set went in the same direction, and the score was again 25-19. In the last set, the Thunder team lost by a few points, 11-15. Although the last set didn’t go so well, the team still left with a win!
The eighth grade A-team was off to a good start playing hard to get the first set win 25-19. In the next set, the Thunder team still fought hard, and it was a close one, but the Thunder team came up short losing 23-25. The last set would be the deciding factor for the win. In the third set, the Thunder team played well, just could not get to 15 first. The Lady Kaws claimed the set and the match win with a score of 9-15. Even though the Thunder team did not win, they still tried hard.
“I feel like we played really well that game, but they were a difficult team to play,” said Kylee Sperfslage.
After the eighth grade A-team played, the eighth grade B-team was up next. The first set went well with a Thunder win, 25-21. The second set went even better, as the team dominated with a score of 25-8. The Thunder team did not win the last set, dropping the set, 9-15.
Even though the eighth grade A-team lost, the eighth grade teams still left with one win from the eighth grade B-team. The seventh grade also picked up a win in each of their matches. Great job Thunder volleyball!
