On Saturday, September 9th the middle school volleyball team went to Axtell for a tournament. The girls started off the tournament with Doniphan West. NC dominated the first set 25-3, then they won the second set 25-13. The girls dominated their first game!
“It was a long and challenging day but we pulled through and came out with the win!” Said Nola Sudbeck (8th)
The lady thunder had a quick break and was ready to play Linn in Axtell’s old gym. The girls started off their first set ahead. Luckily the Thunder stayed ahead and came out with the win! The girls won both of the sets with scores of 25-10, 25-18!

The girls are ready to face Troy in their next game! The girls played hard in the first set against Troy and came out with the win! The score was 25-9! Time to switch sides for the second set. NC was up to serve for the start of the second set. With a lot of passes, sets, and hits, the girls pulled through and came out with a win with a score of 25-14! The Lady Thunder made it to the semifinals!
Time to face Axtell in their own territory. The girls started off the first set in their serve receive. The girls were working hard and consistently to beat Axtell and they did with a tight score of 25-20! Switching the sides. The girls were playing their best and getting awesome kills! Nemaha Central is going to the championship! NC won the second set 25-20
It’s time to face our rivals SPPS. The girls were confident they were going to win it all. The captains were called to decide who was serving. SPPS gets the first serve. The girls pulled ahead and stayed ahead! The Lady Thunder won the first set of the championship game 25-20! The girls were ready to get the title of Axtell Tournament Champs! The girls had their first serve. NC are champions! The girls won the second set 25-16! At the end of the tournament, the girls dominated!
