With their lunches packed and their adventure caps on, the Nemaha Central second graders took a field trip to the Discovery Center in Topeka. The students boarded the bus for the hour-long bus ride after the morning announcements on Thursday, May 4.
Once they arrived at the Discovery Center, students were put into their groups. The staff at the Discovery Center went over the rules. Finally, this was their time to let their minds discover things they may not have ever experienced before.
Adalynn Edelman said, “I just liked going on the trip.”
The morning went fast and lunchtime arrived. The students sat down to eat their lunch and play at the park, of course, their teachers and parents needed a break, too! When lunch was over, it was back to discovering at the center. After a long day of new experiences, the second graders boarded the bus and headed back to the school to pack up and go home for the day.
Wyatt Stallbaumer said, “I liked when we got to play at the park!”
