The Nemaha Central fourth grade took a class field trip to the Sunset Zoo in Manhattan on Wednesday, April 28. Being only an hour away from Seneca the zoo is a great place to take a class field trip.
The students saw many animals including the bengal tigers, red pandas, otters, and flamingos. The 4th graders' favorite animals were the monkeys. Zoos are a great place to bring students to learn about habitats and environments and have a good time while expanding their knowledge about animals.
Rowan Williams commented, “My favorite part was seeing the gibbons and sloths.”
After a few hours at the zoo, the class went to Manhattan City Park to eat lunch and play. Some park highlights were posing near the Johnny Caw statue and playing on the swing sets.
Avery Lueger said, “I liked seeing all the animals and playing with my friends at the park.”
