NC competitors handing off a baton

On Thursday, April 20, the Nemaha Central Middle School track team competed at the Wamego track meet. The teams attending the meet were the following: Abilene, Chapman, Clay Center Community, Concordia, Flint Hills Christian, Nemaha Central, Riley County, Rock Creek, and Wamego. Below are the results and placings from the meet.

8th Grade Boys:

100M Dash- Logan Richards, 6th, 13.18 

200M Dash- Logan Richards, 5th, 26.46

400M Dash- Colton Blume, 6th, 1:02

800M Run-  Brady Koch, 3rd,  2:25; Harry Langill, 6th, 2:32

High Jump-  Payton Huerter, 3rd, 4’ 4”

7th Grade Boys:

400M Dash- Dason Hill, 4th, 1:02

800M Run- Cole Ranieri, 5th, 2:31

1600M Run- Cormik Hajek, 4th, 5:47

4x100M Relay- Xavier Haverkamp, Noah Hilbert, Ryan Koch, and Jayson Kramer, 6th, 1:07

Overall the NCMS athletes did a good job competing at such a big meet. The eighth grade boys earned 67 points for 5th place and the eighth grade girls had 28 points for 8th place. The seventh grade boys had 15 points for 9th place and the seventh grade girls had 84 points to earn 1st place.
