The Nemaha Central Middle School track team kicked off their season at Sabetha on Thursday, April 6. The other teams present at the meet were Sabetha and Auburn. The Nemaha Central track team has 17 eighth grade boys, 12 eighth grade girls, 11 seventh grade boys, and 20 seventh grade girls participating this season. The NC team is managed by Bella Bittenbender, Charli Fleagle, Korah Koch, Kinsey Monier, Makenzie Howard, Ella Huerter, Alexis Spring, Haley Wood, and Landon Mady. The team is coached by Nikki Honeyman, Lisa Holthaus, Maggie Hasenkamp, Kurtis Tatkenhorst, and Shaylyn Stallbaumer.

Lexi Lewis said, "We worked hard for it being our first track meet."
The 8th grade boys team finished in second place, the 8th grade girls team finished in third place, the 7th grade boys team finished in 2nd place, and the 7th grade girls team finished in 2nd place. Overall, it was a good start to the track season and many Nemaha Central records could be broken again.
